PHYSICAL EXAMINATION
We believe the best approach to your pet's health care is to stop problems before they start. Proper care of your pet is the easiest and best way to keep him happy and healthy. At
Pet Vet Credit Valley Hospital, we provide a nose to toes exam for all of our clients' pets.
A complete
veterinary examination includes:
COMFORT
ROOM
At Pet Vet Credit
Valley Hospital, we understand how hard it can be when the family
pet must be hospitalized. That's why we provide our patients with a
"Comfort Room" to visit their pet during recovery and recuperation.
The ability to visit
your pet in the hospital is an important part of your pet's recovery
process, and we encourage our clients to let us know if you wish to
visit.
At Pet Vet
Credit Valley Hospital, we endeavor to keep your pet's pain to a
minimum. We offer pain management treatments that include pain
patches, both injectable and oral pain medications, and CRI
(Constant Rate Infusion) during post operative recovery. Discuss
your concerns about pain with our Veterinarians and they will
provide detailed information about pain management for your pet.
ON-SITE LABORATORY

Our in-house
veterinary laboratory features diagnostic testing for many problems including:
Blood Analysis: blood
analysis, Glucose, BUN, Albumin, Heartworm testing,
Pregnancy, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia;
Dermal: including allergy skin sensitivity testing, presence
of demodex or sarcoptic mange, ringworm, and yeast;
Cytology:
staining, microscopic examination;
Urine: urinalysis including pH, specific gravity, presence of protein, and early renal failure detection in both dogs & cats;
Fecal: intestinal parasites, parvovirus, and giardia.

VETERINARY ENDOSCOPY
Endoscopy allows
a visual examination of internal organs and body parts without invasive
exploratory surgery. Endoscopy is performed with a flexible fiberoptic
instrument. The tip of the endoscope is manipulated using a control knob which
provides the light source within the endoscope, permitting various treatments to
be performed such as passing fluids to be suctioned or samples taken. Using an
endoscope, the doctor can pass air or water into the stomach/intestine to
insufflate (inject air into the area), or wash away mucus from the viewing port.
Special video cameras can be attached to the endoscope which allows viewing of
the examination on a television screen, as well as recording the examination on
video.

BRING THE KIDS!
The kids will have plenty of fun in our children's waiting room where they
will find toys, games and lots of ways to play while your pet is being examined
and treated. Even our smallest clients enjoy bringing their pet to Pet Vet
Hospitals!
