Donald Bissonnette,
BSc., DVM
Senior Veterinarian,

Dr. Bissonnette graduated
from Ontario Agricultural College at the University of
Guelph, with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture in 1982. He entered the
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the Ontario Veterinary College soon
after and received his DVM degree in 1986. Since graduating in 1986 he
has received the following educational certificates: Lifelearn Certificate in
Small Animal Dentistry 1994; Lifelearn Certificate in Feline Medicine, 1994;
Canadian Course in Veterinary Homeopathy, 2000, leading to certification by the
Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy. On a personal note, Dr. Bissonnette owned and operated his own practice for thirteen years with his
wife Dawn who is also a Veterinarian, before he became a partner with Pet Vet
Hospitals. Dr. Dawn Bissonnette has recently finished a Certification course
in Veterinary Acupuncture. They live with their family of three cats, one dog
and four horses. Dawn rides one of their horses in Dressage competitions.
Dr. Bissonnette is interested in the area of alternative, therapies especially
homeopathy and how it can be used in a complementary way with more traditional
medicine, diagnostics and surgery. He is available here at Credit Valley for
homeopathy referrals. Dr. Bissonnette is also very interested in feline
medicine and small animal surgery.

Roselyn Allen, DVM
Associate
Veterinarian
Dr. Allen graduated from
Atlantic Veterinary College, Class of 2001 University of Prince Edward Island.
Dr. Allen’s academic career began with her obtaining a BA in English and a BSc
in Biology from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After
graduation Dr. Allen relocated to Ontario and spent the first part of her career
working at our Eastside hospital in Stoney Creek. She moved to
Mississauga and became a full time Associate at our Credit Valley hospital
after her son Maksim was born in 2003. On a personal note; Dr. Allen is a
proud Maritimer and returns there on her vacation time to visit with family
and friends. Her personal time is spent reading and watching movies, and of
course keeping up with Max. Dr. Allen has a beautiful tortoiseshell cat named
“Gilda”. She is affectionately known as Dr. Roz around the Pet Vet Hospital
team! Dr. Allen enjoys all aspects of companion animal medicine. She is
passionately committed to the preservation of the human-animal bond and the
solving of pet behavioural issues as they impact on that bond.

Sheila Atmore , DVM
Associate
Veterinarian
Dr. Atmore graduated from
Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in 1997. After
graduation Dr. Atmore accepted a position with Pet Vet Hospitals and spent
time here at Credit Valley Pet Vet for her initial training. Once immersed in
practice she spent her first year working at our Eastside hospital in Stoney
Creek. In 1998 we opened a new hospital in Oakville and Dr. Atmore was
excited to accept a new challenge and was positioned there as the primary Doctor
until May 31, 2001 when we sold the
practice. Dr. Atmore has been working on a full time basis here at Credit
Valley since June 1, 2001. On a personal note; Dr. Atmore enjoys
country living on her farm. Her hobby and passion
is in the racing of horses. Most of her free time is
taken up caring and working with the young horses, but
she also finds time for two retired race horses.
On the farm, she is surrounded by her closest
companion’s; her two cats, “Mr. Mackie” and Ms. Buckets”
and her two canaries “Pip” and “Penny”. For relaxation
she enjoys horseback riding and working in her
greenhouse and garden. Dr. Atmore enjoys all
aspects of companion animal medicine and surgery.

Ryan Machowski, BSc., DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Ryan Machowski graduated from the
University of Waterloo with his Bachelor of Science,
Honours Health Studies in 2004. Shortly after, he
entered the Ontario Veterinary College and earned his
Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Throughout his
studies, Dr. Ryan worked in several small animal
practices to gain experience and broaden his
understanding of all facets of veterinary medicine.
Dr. Ryan is passionate about companion animal medicine
with special interests in surgery and neurology.
Dr. Ryan and his wife Melissa recently moved from Kitchener
to Mississauga so that he can be close to the practice and check in on his
patients as often as needed. Dr. Ryan and Melissa live with their
Pomeranian, Frankie, and two kitties, Martin and Lewis (or, as they refer to
them, their little Rat Pack). When not working, Dr. Ryan enjoys keeping
active through cycling and running, playing the drums and piano and keeping
abreast of the latest trends in veterinary medicine.
