OUR VETERINARY SERVICES

Pet Vet Lakeshore Hospital provides physical diagnostic and wellness exams, vaccinations, surgery, a pet pharmacy, and a range of laboratory services.  We recognize that pets are important members of your family.

We believe that keeping your pet healthy and happy not only benefits your pet, but benefits your family as well.  Our doctors and staff are here to help ensure that your pet enjoys life, and that your pet companions live the longest and healthiest life possible.

Physical Examination

We believe the best approach to your pet's health care is to stop problems before they start.  Proper care of your pet is the easiest and best way  to keep him happy and healthy.  At Pet Vet Lakeshore Hospital, we provide a nose to toes exam for all of our clients' pets.

A complete veterinary examination includes:

  • Medical History

  • Ear & Eye Examination

  • Cardiopulmonary (Heart & Lung) Analysis

  • Temperature Reading

  • Dental Exam

  • Dermatological Exam

  • Musculoskeletal Evaluation

  • Nutritional Counseling

Veterinary Surgery

We offer a range of soft tissue surgeries which include routine spays and neuters, tumor removal, biopsies, to more advanced procedures such as hip surgery, bone grafts and obstruction removal.  At Pet Vet Lakeshore Hospital, we endeavor to keep your pet's pain to a minimum.  We offer pain management treatments that include pain patches, both injectible and oral pain medications, and CRI (Constant Rate Infusion) during post operative recovery.  We will take every measure to eliminate your pet's pain and any stress related problems experienced from surgery or treatment procedures.  Our veterinary doctors and staff will treat your pet as if your pet were their own pet.

Digital Radiology

Digital veterinary X-Ray equipment ensures your pet has minimal exposure to radiation, while providing our doctors with the very best digital imaging available to evaluate your pet's condition and determine the best form of treatment.  At Pet Vet Lakeshore Hospital, we offer many other diagnostic evaluations to help you and the doctor choose the best course of care for your pet.

Veterinary Ultrasound

Veterinary ultrasound allows the doctors to examine your pet without invasive or painful procedures.  This pain free, non stressful procedure assists the doctor in diagnosing abdominal, cardiac, urinary, cervical, and many other problems your pet may be experiencing.

Veterinary ultrasound also helps the doctor in establishing a diagnosis and treatment plan to keep your pet happy and healthy for life.

On-Site Laboratory

Our in-house veterinary laboratory features diagnostic testing for many problems including the following:

Blood Analysis:  blood analysis, Glucose, BUN, Albumin, Heartworm testing, Pregnancy, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichia;

Dermal: including allergy skin sensitivity testing, presence of demodex or sarcoptic mange, ringworm, and yeast;

Cytology: staining, microscopic examination and interpretation;

Urine: urinalysis including pH, specific gravity, presence of protein, and early renal failure detection in both dogs & cats;

Fecal: intestinal parasites, parvovirus, and giardia.

Veterinary Endoscopy

Endoscopy allows a visual examination of internal organs and body parts without invasive exploratory surgery.  Endoscopy is performed with a flexible fiber optic instrument. The tip of the endoscope is manipulated using a control knob which provides the light source within the endoscope, permitting various treatments to be performed such as passing fluids to be suctioned or samples taken. Using an endoscope, the doctor can pass air or water into the stomach/intestine to insufflate (inject air into the area), or wash away mucus from the viewing port. Specially-designed video cameras can be attached to the endoscope which allows viewing of the examination on a television screen, as well as recording the examination on video.
