Arunas Jonusas, DVM, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Arunas graduated from The Lithuanian Veterinary Academy in 1995 with the degree of Veterinary Surgeon.  After graduating, Dr. Jonusas began practicing in his birth country, Lithuania, as a farm Veterinarian.  Following the crash of the Soviet Union, he returned to the Veterinary Academy and trained to work with companion animals. Dr. Jonusas came to Canada in 2004 where he worked and studied to realize his dream of practicing in Canada. He passed the Ontario Veterinary College Board exams in 2008.  Dr. Jonusas is very interested in companion animal diagnostics and surgery. He finds it very rewarding to find out what is wrong with a sick pet and be able to make it feel better.  On a personal note, Dr. Jonusas is a single parent of two daughters, one here in Canada studying biology at York University and the other is married, with two children and lives in England.  Dr. Jonusas is a sports fan. He plays basketball but is a huge fan of any type of team oriented sports. Dr. Jonusas speaks several languages; Lithuanian, Latvian, Russian and English. He also understands polish but feels he isn’t as proficient in speaking it!

Tanya Varley, DVM

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Tanya Varley who has been employed by Pet Vet Hospitals in our Mississauga location for the past six years while obtaining her Veterinary degree. She holds an Honours Bachelor degree of science in Biological sciences at University of Guelph (2003) and earned her DVM at OVC (2010!). 

Dr. Varley’s hobbies include horseback riding (dressage), ballet, reading, and kick boxing gym classes.  She makes her home with 4 cats (Sebastian, Toby, Angel, Stihl), 2 bunnies (Lily and Lucy), and 1 horse (Denmar) who's 30 years old and retired!  Her extended family also includes 2 cats she left with her mom when she came to school, (Suzy and Tommy) and 1 black lab (Shadow).  Her interests are small animal internal medicine and critical care, equine medicine, and exotics (especially rats and bunnies).
